Pete Hegseth's new plan to screen troops for low testosterone has set off a debate — but it's his influencer-style video and reports of a Pentagon makeup station that have people talking. Read on to discover the full story!

The 'High-T' Push

Hegseth announced the Pentagon will require service members over 30 to be screened annually for testosterone deficiency as part of routine health checks. In a video on X he said: "I'm authorizing a new screening program for testosterone deficiency for our service members, ensuring you have the right testosterone levels to operate at your absolute best." If treatment is recommended, the choice to pursue testosterone replacement would be up to the service member.

Critics Mock the Message

Much of the online reaction targeted his presentation rather than the policy. Social posts called the clip "influencer" content, joked about mood lighting and accused Hegseth of sporting heavy makeup—one user claimed he was wearing "17 layers of makeup." Some observers asked whether this felt like a Pentagon announcement or a men's wellness pitch.
